WANTING TO COME ACROSS A CHARGING STATION ON YOUR JOURNEY?

WANTING TO COME ACROSS A CHARGING STATION ON YOUR JOURNEY?

WANTING TO COME ACROSS A CHARGING STATION ON YOUR JOURNEY?

Wanting to find a charging station but where do you start?

CleanCar totally understand’s the daunting feeling that you may be experiencing. The daunting feeling that occurs when you need to find a charging station. This is when you need to plan where they will be beforehand. This is to prevent drivers from being in a situation where they run out of battery.  There are many apps that can show you local charging points etc.  Researching where charging-points are in the area before your journey will help you become more aware of charging points for back up. This is just in case you need them and have judged the vehicle range wrong. The driver will have more confidence to drive wherever they may like. Without range anxiety taking over.

Majority of drivers assume charging points will be at petrol/diesel fuelling stations. That is wrong. Unfortunately not every fuel station has a charging point. Planning your journey is the way forward to ensuring you are going to have enough battery and make it to your charging stations without running out. Having the confidence to know how far your vehicles goes without running out of battery.

So, where you are going to charge next?

This is why you need to plan… It is the only way you will be able to balance your journey out and get the most range out of your vehicle.

Planning your journey isn’t hard or time consuming at all …

Doing research as I have mentioned before and understanding your vehicle’s range will help you evaluate how you work out when you need to charge vehicle next. Looking at the range of the vehicle and then the journey mileage it will determine when your vehicle will need a charge. Also, allowing yourself to keep a few more miles in the battery will give you a little more hope if plan A doesn’t workout you can always go to plan B. You will soon get used to when your vehicle needs charging.

Planning  your journey is beneficial for you if you travel alone as you would already have planned what charging point you are going to be using and how long it will take etc. The reason we say this is, incase the charging points you originally wanted to use in plan A were not working etc. Always have a back up plan to ensure you have time ahead to get to your destination with a reasonable amount of battery in the vehicle to reach plan B.

Look at it like an EV adventure. All EV drivers do it. It adapt’s to your lifestyle of driving. It just takes a little time. For some driver’s they get the hang of the range very quickly some don’t. Once your used to your vehicle drivers find it much easier and convenient as they are able to stop during a journey. Which, give themselves a break whilst the vehicle is charging. They go grab a coffee; chat to a few clients and send a few emails to their team. It’s not as bad as you think. It’s beneficial to the environment and yourself.

Never Feel Alone…

Never feel you are alone when you are a EV driver. There are now recovery companies that  are trained to work with electric vehicle’s. The roadside recovery companies will ensure that if you run out of battery they will tow you to the nearest charging station. Try not to use it, but if you have to they are there. You may do this once but a mistake you learn from, you may never have to use it again. Knowing it’s there as a Plan Z makes you feel much better as an EV driver. When you purchase and electric vehicle, getting the right recovery company is what you should be looking for. You will have to do some research into this. To get the right recovery company that can be supportive and do this for you.

Being recovered may not be the quickest or convenient experience to have but it’s their if you judge your range incorrectly. A recovery company is there for reassurance if you have ran out of battery after going for plan A and then plan B. You will soon get used to the vehicle. How long the range lasts and what journeys it will need a few charges for. You will also get used to knowing the areas you are driving to and from and where charging points are going to be. Soon enough, there will not be any planning before each journey because you would have adapted to the EV lifestyle.

Now, does this sound reassuring? I hope it does. Now, do you want to make the EV switch if it will be beneficial to you? Then, why not try CleanCar out… We show you the benefits and cost savings of making the EV switch. Also, if you are not going to benefit from a Electric Vehicle then we will tell you.

Saving you time and money.

HOW DOES THE DEVICE WORK?

The CleanCar device (we must find a catchier name, send ideas to helpdesk@cleancar.io) is an incredibly smart piece of kit, but for this FAQ, we will keep it simple.

  • The CleanCar device has been designed to record GPS coordinates of your location while you are driving
  • It will do this every 10 seconds or 100 metres or 25-degree change in direction so on a winding road it takes more coordinates and on a straight one less.
  • The device saves these coordinates and every few minutes it connects to the mobile network via an on-board sim and uploads these to the CleanCar portal. It will store around ten days of driving if for any reason there is no signal.
  • Once we receive the data, we store it up, and while most people are asleep in the early morning, our servers and algorithms convert it into journeys and statistics.
  • The following day you will be able to log in see your stats.
  • CleanCar aims to help users like you to make the switch from your internal combustion engine to an electric vehicle.

Wanting to be EV owners?

Wanting to be EV owners?

Wanting to be EV owners?

By Alice Wilson Digital Marketing Assistant

Are you wanting to make the electric vehicle switch but unsure on a few questions? How about reading this blog and your questions may be answered within it. If you would like any questions answered that are not answered in this blog please e-mail us at info@cleancar.io.

Making that switch from fuelling and polluting emissions out of your vehicle to then just charging your vehicle and cleaning the air we breath in is the biggest transition that will happen within the EV switch. But… there are questions that still aren’t being answered to make the switch.

How can I get to meetings miles away?

When I have meetings, will my vehicle last my whole journey or will I have to re-charge half way through the journey there and back? Now, if you were to go on a journey in your fuelled vehicle you would know you would either have to fill up before the journey or half way. There is no difference. However, fueling your vehicle up is rushing, no chance to look at phone, call contacts, or respond to emails. Whereas, making the EV switch you can take a break whilst your vehicle is charging, respond to emails, make urgent calls and socialise and learn more things about your EV with other EV drivers.  Yes, sometimes Electric Public charging points are busy but it’s only waiting at a petrol station until someone else has filled up just a little longer.

Planning your journey –

Planning your journey before you start it is the best option which we recommend. There are many apps that will help you with this. Finding your closest charging points on the way to your destinations will save a lot of time. Not every petrol station and car park have charging points and also, when they do there are sometimes only 2 on the site. If they are being used, what are you going to do? You have 30 miles left… You should prepare for back-up plans for other charging points in the area to keep you going. Always allow more time when you set off for your journey, then if you are expected to find another charging point you will have enough time to do this.

How long will my vehicle range last? –

Having an electric vehicle is like having a petrol/diesel the difference is you charge and have no-emissions from electric. BUT, the pedals, steering wheel and everything else in the vehicle is updated but the same inside. Just powered… Now, you will start seeing instead of F – E (Full to Empty) you will see how many miles you have left as well as a battery, the battery may not last as long as a full tank in your fuelled vehicle but you will soon get used to it. It just takes a little bit of time. The sooner you start to look more into the range of your new vehicle and start to drive one the better! See, no need to worry!

Charging my vehicle through the night, will it last?

Charging your vehicle through the night is the fast and efficient way to know that you will be sleeping whilst your vehicle is becoming ready for you in the morning for your journey ahead. What do you do? Well, when you get home from work or an event on the evening just pop it on charge and leave it overnight to charge away. It will soon be ready for you to use your vehicle the next day. Once you have a EV you should purchase a home charging point the best thing to buy in this case. You can charge your vehicle when you feel like and you will know that it’s available to use instead of waiting or thinking about public charging points. See, charging your vehicle in the comfort of your driveway. Safe and sound.

Can you get a bigger battery for your vehicle to last longer on journeys? There will not be any need for this. The reason why is that you will soon be getting used to your EV battery you have by now. As soon as you change it again it will be starting all over again. Understanding the range and trying to do as many miles as you can out of it will start to become a challenge and a challenge that may surprise how far your EV actually goes without a charge. So, instead of purchasing a bigger battery which could be wasting your money why not charge your vehicle more frequently at home or at work. More easy and convenient for yourself. There are all types of vehicles with different range capacity and you choose the vehicle that would suit your needs or why not find out if you would save money by making the EV switch?

Wanting to make the EV switch but unsure if it will beneficial for you? Why not use the risk-free system – The CleanCar system. We can show you the true benefits of making the EV switch. If a electric vehicle will not be suitable for you we will tell you. We can also show what specific electric vehicle’s would be beneficial for you. What do you think? Call our team, we can have a chat and let you know…

Wanting to charge your vehicle…

Wanting to charge your vehicle…

Wanting to charge your vehicle…

Alice Wilson – Digital Marketing Assistant.

Having an electric vehicle –

Wanting to purchase an EV to driving an electric vehicle is two total different things. You may want one as but you will compare an EV to the vehicle you have now. Whereas, when you have an electric vehicle you look at all the positives it gives you. How it adapts to your lifestyle an you realise the range on the vehicle is great and gets you from to A to B!

Changing from diesel/petrol to electric…

Changing to an electric vehicle from a diesel/petrol vehicle is bizarre and unusual at first. You soon get used to it. It’s pretty much the same. Although, the vehicle is quieter and you  have to charge your vehicle instead. Knowing that you are putting your vehicle on charge instead of filling up is confusing to start with, no ones going to lie but you soon get used to not having to spend as much at a charging station anymore you start to enjoy it! Fuel is quicker to put into your vehicle than power but there are advantages for that as-well…

Let me get to those…

You can’t fuel your car up and have a coffee at the same time. So, knowing your vehicle is charging, you can take a little break to pop to the coffee shop next door. You also get chance to answer phone calls, do work or socialise with other people that are also charging at the same time.

Doesn’t sound that bad after all…

Questions still run through your head although you may have had them answered before. For example; How can the battery not run out after being used for so long? How long will it last without a charge? Well… Soon enough the panic and fear of all those questions disappear. No need to have thoughts of, have I got enough charge to get me to my meeting tomorrow? As you have already have a charging point at home. Charging your EV before you leave will give you a better range of miles to drive. The range of miles your vehicle has get aren’t just to get you to town an back, honestly a EV will get you further than you think… You have to approach a EV with an open-mind!

Instead of worrying before each journey, why not plan before you start your journey anyway? There are plenty of apps to show where charging stations are on the way to your destination. After a few days to weeks, you will work out when your vehicle will be running low of battery to recharge. Always consider having a backup plan. A plan B, because you never know the chargers you have planned to use could be busy or broken. Precautions have to be taken before every journey. Planning is just to ensure you are 100% confident driving those miles in one day.

Making the EV switch is something a lot of people consider but never actually do. Saying you will do it next week and to actually doing it and taking the risk is obviously two different things. People are worried about making the EV switch, why? Are they a lot of money to buy to start with?

Well…

Looking at the overall cost that your EV will cost you it will sum up paying all the money at the start is worth it. But not for everyone… The majority of the money saved from making the EV switch could be used on a extra holiday a year, what do you think about that? Why not find out if making the EV switch will save you money?

What you know now –

Knowing that charging your vehicle isn’t that bad after all, are you wanting to making the EV switch? If you are. Don’t just go and purchase the first one. You don’t know if it will benefit you. Why not be 100% sure with CleanCar and use our risk-free system.  CleanCar can show you what vehicle’s would be beneficial especially to you and show you the overall costs.

Why not try CleanCar out? We ensure that you will save money, if we think making the electric vehicle switch wouldn’t be benefit you we would tell you. What have you got to lose? Not an Electric Vehicle, that’s for sure! Seeing if an Electric Vehicle would be good for you puts your mind at rest knowing that you won’t be losing money. Having it in writing that you are going to save money’s gives you the the motivation to go and purchase an EV. What do you think? Want to know more about the CleanCar device? Then keep scrolling…

We also have a FAQ page. If you have questions they may have been answered on here – www.cleancar.io/faq

Here are some relevant questions regarding this blog –

How do I install the GPS device?

It is essential that the GPS device is located in a 12V in the front console of the vehicle. This is so that it can receive signals from the global navigation satellite system. Also, if you can see it and it falls out you will notice. If you place it in a glove box or the boot of the car, you may not notice if the device has become dislodged.

Who can see your journeys?

Short answer, only you. Only drivers can see their journeys with the journey detail hidden from your manager, your colleagues or your employer. There is no way for anyone to look at your business or personal trips.  CleanCar is not designed to track what you do but is a system that will use journey data to show your suitability to an electric vehicle. We will never share your journey details with anyone unless you give us explicit permission to do so.

Going Green

Going Green is a huge risk to take whether you are doing it personally or for your fleet. The risk is wanting to spend all this money on an Electric vehicle but unsure if it will be beneficial for you? There are cases where drivers make the  EV switch and don’t become beneficial or save money from it what so ever. As, everyone seems to think as it’s eco-friendly and cheap to run you will save money. BUT… This is the risk you take. BUT… Personally that is a very BIG cost risk doing it that way. That’s why we have The CleanCar system for you, to prevent making the switch becoming the wrong decision. It is certainly the risk-free way.

A company switching to EV –

A company switching to EV creates a large encouragement on the community and businesses around it. As, businesses are becoming environmentally friendly, a lot of businesses/people find this really supporting to our environment. Electric Vehicles change the perspective for company’s and drivers lifestyle’s. For example; charging the vehicle at home or charging the vehicle at charging stations. You have time whilst the vehicle is charging to write a few e-mails as well as accepting a few calls at the local cafe. What could get better than this? You couldn’t do that when you had a diesel/petrol vehicle… There not life changing changes but it’s just the change on how you work and fill your vehicle up. It isn’t that bad after all…

Time to change! What is going to happen when you make that EV switch? Well, we can tell you one thing for certain. You will certainly be making the quality of air better and improving the environment.

Making the EV switch

Now, not every person is suitable for an electric vehicle. As everyone suits different types of vehicles due to their everyday journeys. So, finding out if it will be beneficial for the EV switch beforehand it puts your mind at rest. Knowing from the time you purchase your vehicle from then on you will be saving money, or just saving money overall.

First thing’s first… Everyone wants a new car!

What are you going to choose? – The one that is speedy, fashionable or the one that is more economical. Well, I think the speedy and fashionable comes first in the decision. That needs to change. You need to have an open mind. When you go to view electric vehicles there are things that you won’t be comfortable and confident with. In time it will get better.  As EV’s are the future and electric vehicles are environmental friendly. Knowing one day you will be making the switch to EV if it benefits you in the future is quite overwhelming and exciting.

Now, put yourself in the shoes of your fleet manager.

You want to change your fleet but how? How will you find all this information to prove to the director of the business that it would save you all money. Well, unless you have a lot of time on your hands you will be unable to do it. That is why CleanCar is here to guide you on the EV roads.

Fleet managers may want to purchase new vehicles for the business but what will they want to buy? Something reliable for their drivers but also at a low rate cost. So, this narrows it down but not to electric vehicles…  What needs to happen is, if you are really serious of saving money for the business. You will need to find the solution that is risk-free, ah, here we are! We have found CleanCar for you! If Fleet managers used the CleanCar system before considering to purchase an electric vehicles for their fleet, their decision would be a fair one and the right one. CleanCar has the system to show you what is going to be beneficial for you and your drivers if you did make the EV switch.

Now, are you wanting to go green? Going green is not as easy as it seems and also reading this blog we hope you have a better understanding of what to be looking for when you are considering purchasing an electric vehicle. (A risk-free solution).

If you are wanting to find out how our CleanCar device works then please keep reading.

Alex Baker CEO of CleanCar gives you a great overview of

how the CleanCar device works –

“CleanCar is a solution that helps to speed up the switch to electric vehicles, electric vehicles for a right person can be incredibly cost effective and can save you in excess to three thousand pounds a year. What we do is we help to make that happen by taking a small device like this or an app, we place it into a driver’s vehicle and that driver just so you know uses their car as normal we collect that data. We run it for a number of algorithms and we make it very simple by saying;
1. Are you suited to an electric vehicle?
2. Which electric vehicles will be suited?
3. Finally, will you actually save any money by making the switch to an electric vehicle?
So, we make it very easy for somebody to just make that risk-free decision.”
See, a simple explanation way of using the device. Risk-free and no chaos what so ever. Instead of wasting all your money purchasing an electric vehicle with no idea how much you are saving or wasting. Why not go the risk-free option and go CleanCar. Knowing you will be saving the business money and giving the company a solution to make more money will be great. Why not use the CleanCar system and we will be able to guide you on the EV roads.

Having an Electric Fleet…

Having an Electric Fleet…

Having an Electric Fleet –

Alice Wilson – Digital Marketing Assistant

Are you a Fleet Manager or employee that is in control of a fleet and wants to switch to EV? Take a read of this blog, it will be worth your while…

Having an Electric Fleet is what all fleet managers consider. However, the time it takes to look more into making the switch is very time consuming. Also, the costs of converting to EV is the worrying and daunting part, as you want it to be correct. It all comes down to the fear of the unknown, who knows if it will be beneficial to make the EV switch… You, myself an fleet managers would never be able to work out which electric vehicles would suit each driver you have. But… We have something that will. The CleanCar System. Choosing CleanCar saves you time and shows you the true benefits of making the switch to electric vehicles for each of your drivers etc. see, all done for you.

What if –

What if the CleanCar system told you, changing your fleet to an Electric Fleet could save you money and in fact keep your air cleaner for your environment. Would you change your mind or even consider making the EV switch?

I thought you might…

Having a small or large fleet doesn’t mean your drivers will suit the same electric vehicles. All of your drivers daily journey’s are different. Having the risk-free CleanCar system guide you to your EV decision is great. Once you have made the decision you will have all the information to back your decision up and reassure you for whatever that may be. For Example; Half of your fleet could be doing 100’s miles a day up and down the country. Whereas your other drivers might only drive 20 miles per day. So, the same vehicle’s would not benefit all of your drivers. CleanCar decides what vehicle’s would benefit your drivers personally in their own personal account.

A lot of fleet managers are apprehensive about making that leap to an Electric Fleet. Which is understandable, as it’s their responsibility and making the right decision counts as no money wants to be wasted. The decision for EV has to be 100% correct. Having data and information to prove to your Managing Director that the business will save money from the EV switch is what you want. This really does back your case up and it also shows that you have a understanding of how you are going to save the business money etc.

Considering a Electric fleet…

Having an Electric Fleet is exciting… Something new. Especially seeing all those EV’s out in the office car park. Smart looking and money saving…  How will they get in to meetings on time with the range that EV’s have? Majority of users will have charging points at home, so vehicles are guaranteed a charge throughout the night. Although, there should also be charging points at the office carpark. However, all trips drivers make should be planned ahead. So, it isn’t as worrying as you think…

Majority of drivers become worried due to range anxiety. Something that you wouldn’t be able to change it would have to be overcome in time.  It is just the initial thought of thinking you are going to be running out of battery and the range you have in your vehicle isn’t enough. Whereas it has been proven your vehicle is suitable for your jounreys so no need to panic. Think ahead. Planning your journey’s can help you feel more comfortable knowing you have to stop along the way to charge an knowing where to stop, but always keep a back up plan. Have another charging point to hand if the original one you planned to use is not working or busy etc. Honestly, there is nothing to worry about. There are so many charging points around the country and at service stations and cities as the country is really adapting to Electric Vehicles it’s great.

Recovery cover for your EV fleet –

Another thing you are probably are thinking about is recovery. Are my drivers going to be looked after if the vehicle breaks down or runs out of charge? There is no need to worry regarding this. Your drivers will be treated the same as any other driver who drives a diesel/petrol. How will they know how to fix an Electric Vehicle?

You ask, well… A lot of recovery companies have trained their employees to be prepared as they are adapting to the future as there are a lot EV’s on the road already.

There are recovery companies that will tow you to the nearest charging station if you have ran out of battery, so you don’t just contact your recovery company when you have just “broken down”. This is to ensure that you your recovery service keeps you safe. There are a lot of companies that are now supporting Electric Fleets. If you have actually broken down they will try to sort the issue out or tow you to a garage, home. Depending on your policy with the recovery company.

Knowing that a vehicle you drive everyday is making you overspend is mind blowing…

It is mind blowing especially knowing the amount of money you could be saving on other things. If you saw the amount of money the business would save from the EV switch, well… you would switch tomorrow! Let CleanCar tell you. Not every business is benefited by switching to EV. That’s why we allow CleanCar to inform you on what vehicles would suit your daily journey’s best. On the other hand, it could tell you would not benefit from making the EV switch.

Switching your Fleet to an Electric Fleet is a BIG jump in the business but knowing the benefits of electric vehicles and knowing how the electric vehicle technology is growing and expanding it is such an advantage to you and the business. Improving your knowledge on electric vehicles; charging points, solar panels it’s all to still to learn…

Now, finding out if your drivers are doing the amount of miles that would be suitable for a EV is possible. The CleanCar system shows what vehicles are beneficial for individual drivers by a capture of journeys from the CleanCar device an a click of a button. All journeys are stored in the drivers own personal accounts that are set up by the system, this is when the system will show what EV’s will be beneficial for the driver.

How can you measure this by their journeys?

Here is a brief explanation of the CleanCar system. A CleanCar Device that goes into 12V of the vehicle. CleanCar’s device would then record all journeys that have been driven. You will choose how long you use the CleanCar system for. The more time you use the CleanCar system the more data you will have and can reflect on. The CleanCar data will then be stored in your own personal account. After using the CleanCar device you will then be able to review your own data and view what vehicles will be beneficial for you in your account.

Switching EV in 300 words…

Switching EV in 300 words…

Switching EV…

“CleanCar is a system that “Makes it Easy to Switch to Electric Vehicles.

Many fleets today understand the benefits of adopting electric vehicles but are currently on the fence and are unable to make the decision to switch.

They usually have unanswered questions including:

  • Are EV’s suitable for our requirements?
  • Which vehicles are best suited to our needs?
  • Will we save any money by making the switch?
  • What kind of chargers do we need, how many do we need and where should we install them

Without answers to these questions, the decision to switch is risky, and understandably fleets are hesitant.

CleanCar addresses the risk for fleet decision makers by answering all of the questions above.

The CleanCar system is simple to explain; we take a small self-fit GPS device that a driver plugs into the 12v cigarette lighter of their vehicle and they drive about as usual.  The journey patterns are then automatically uploaded to our CleanCar portal.

The driver and fleet manager can then log in to the system and see the following:

  1. Is a driver suited to an EV, i.e. based on the usage of their current vehicle, could switching to an EV be practical.
  2. Which EV is best suited to a drivers needs.
  3. Would an EV be a cost-effective alternative to an equivalent diesel or petrol, we measure Whole Life Cost of both vehicle sot make a comparison.
  4. If a fleet is going to switch some vehicles, how many charge points do they need and where should they locate them (we can see where vehicle are parked and where they dwell)

The CleanCar system can be implemented in as little as 24 hours and within a month will give a fleet a full understanding of its EV transition options.

If you would like to contact us please call 0845 600 6880 or e-mail us at info@cleancar.io”

Switching EV is the way forward.

Electric Vehicle Data Service to Broaden Reach

Electric Vehicle Data Service to Broaden Reach

“Electric Vehicle Data Service to Broaden Reach”

The content in the “BusinessCar” Magazine – “Jack Carfrae reports” –

CleanCar are proud to announce we are in the BuisnessCar Magazine. Please take a read of the article. This article tells you all about the “app-based version of its CleanCar service”.

“Electric Vehicle Data Service to Broaden Reach”

To read the report from Jack Carfrae, please either click on the link above or read the whole article below. To visit the official magazine page please click here.

“Fleetinnovations has launched an app-based version of its Cleancar service that tells busineses whether or not they can feasibly switch to electric vehicles.”

“Fleet Innovations have converted its CleanCar system to an app format to roll it out to a wider number of customers.

The company specialises in establishing whether or not businesses could realistically swap existing internal combustion vehicles for plug-in equivalents by tracking data gleaned from dongles inserted into the vehicles’ 12-volt sockets. The practice typically involves collecting around a month’s worth of telematics-style information about typical cycles, which is then scrutinised to ascertain if vehicle’s normal usage is such that it could be swapped for an electric version without hindrance tot he operation and determine if the exchange would generate a financial saving.

Launched this month, the app version is said to offer exactly the same data and results, and will be distributed in conjunction with partner firms such as energy suppliers and dealer groups looking to promote electric vehicles (EVs) and clean energy initiatives.

Speaking to BusinessCar, CEO Alex Baker explained that moving to a digital format would allow the service to reach a broader audience. “If somebody’s got 300 vehicles, all we do is send out 300 dongles to the company and away you go” he said.”Bringing on 300 users with dongles is easy at the moment; bringing on 10,000 users really isn’t. We’ve spent a lot of time rebuilding it so that if, for arguments sake, a major energy company wanted to offer it to 100,000 users then this system will support that. It’s designed to to be rolled out to large numbers of users very quickly”

He said CleanCar’s fundamental practice of data gathering would not differ with the new platform, but added that while the app would render the service available to a larger group, it would only offer data gathering and results, and would not include subsequent analytical and consultancy work previously offered to fleet customers. “With the dongle, once the journeys are tracked, they’re sent via a sim card to our portal.” he added. “We normally collect about a month’s worth of data, and we’re ten able to say ‘One, are you suitable for an electric vehicle? Two, which electric vehicles are best suited? And three, will you actually save any money by making the switch from petrol/diesel to an electric vehicle?’

“In terms of the difference between using an app and a dongle, the data we collect is the same. I supposed it’s the 80/20 rule, where 80% of the process is the same for everybody but, previously, there’s been quite a lot of bespoking, specific to fleets, whereas the plan for the app is to get it our there and keep building on it.”

The app will primarily be offered as a white label product, allowing partner companies to market it under their own name and with additional feature specific to the organisations. “Our ideal partners for this would be energy companies, vehicle motor manufacturers, finance companies, dealer groups – basically anybody that’s selling vehicles, charge points, energy or anything like that – and would benefit from people driving electric vehicles,” Said Baker.”We could have a dealer group version, for example, and we’d have the capability to build in that dealer group’s pricing, special deals and things like that. There’d be a bit of development work required for that sort of thing, but we could absolutely do it.”

He added that one large business has already signed up to the launch its own, labelled version and that the app have been well received by other blue chip firms canvassed by the company. “what we didn’t realised is that, when we went out and started speaking to potential partners, just how positive those conversations would be.”

Baker said the app would also be available via conventional online channels such as the Apple app store and Google Play as a free download, but users would be charged an as-yet undisclosed fee in order to progress with the service, as the firm’s primary objective was to market the app via large partner businesses. All versions will, however, be continuously updated based on customer feedback and additional but currently unspecified features are due to be added over time.

The company has previously worked with fleets including aerospace company BAE, which it assisted in the procurement of 60 Nissan e-NV200 electric vans and the installation of 26 charging points at its Portsmouth naval base site.”

As a business, CleanCar would like to thank BusinessCar Magazine (Jack Carfrae) and the team for writing all the content for such an in depth and wide explanation on what CleanCar does. The CleanCar Team hope all readers have enjoyed the “Electric Vehicle Data Service to Broaden Reach” article. How can CleanCar help your Fleet? Electric Vehicles are the future…

Written by Alice Wilson – Digital Marketing Assistant

Are you a Fleet Manager worried about making the Electric Vehicle switch. Also, wasting a lot of money researching to much into it?  No one likes to waste money or time. The CleanCar System knows how you feel. If you are looking for a fleet solution then you are reading the right blog.

Discover with CleanCar!

It will take around 10 minutes to read. However, it will save you a lot of time in the long run, as you will find out whilst you start to read how we have a Fleet Solution for your fleet.

There is big responsibility involved in being in control of a whole fleet of vehicles whether it be from 10 – 20,000 vehicles. One of the top subjects to be thinking about is saving money for the business, isn’t that right?  But how do you do it? You have no time to look into it, so let CleanCar work out all the information for you. No need to overthink it…

Many fleet drivers want to know the benefits of electric vehicles, the cost of ownership and what technology it takes to make that Electric Vehicle switch.  It’s finding the best fleet solutions to suit you and your fleet. Well… this is where the Cleancar System can help you. The CleanCar System is your solution to your fleet issue of not knowing whether to make the Electric Vehicle switch or not. CleanCar has the system and statistics to making your fleet an electric fleet.  Read on for a better understanding of our system.

Not all EV cars are suitable for everyone – that is why there is a variety of choices for different drivers –

Remember, no one’s account is the same.  A BMW i3 may be suitable for one of your drivers to benefit from. On the other hand another driver may be suitable for a Nissan Leaf. It all depends on the driver and how many miles and journeys they undertake etc.  Giving the drivers knowledge of knowing what specific electric vehicle would benefit them and would help them have the confidence to know they are going to save money, as well as the business they work for.

An Electric Vehicle will save the business money and be a great benefit to helping with environmental issues. Making the switch by being proven it can be a great benefit to the driver and the business, is the best outcome. Once your fleet has switched to Electric Vehicles, the business will start to see a huge amount of savings.  Every fleet manager I am sure will be thinking, why didn’t I make this decision before? Have you made the decision now? No looking back to diesel/petrol, they are a vehicle of the past…

What if an electric vehicle was not for you?

If drivers would not benefit from having an electric vehicle then this will be made clear to the drivers from our system.  Not everyone suits an Electric Vehicle. Finding out if your fleet is suitable by using CleanCar is the safe way. You would not want to buy a fleet of Electric Vehicles and see you are losing money and trying to prove to your boss it was the best decision etc.  If this was to happen, this would be disappointing from the businesses perspective as this takes research, time and effort. Having the facts in black and white is something to go to your Managing Director with to prove you are ready and the business is ready to make the switch.

Having the information to prove your point, that there is going to be a positive impact for the business, will help in suggesting an Electric Vehicle transition. If it isn’t a positive impact you haven’t wasted as much money as you would have done by purchasing the whole fleet an Electric Vehicle, you just used The CleanCar system instead. Quick, easy and mess free. What do you think? Why not take the risk and use CleanCar?

What some Drivers experience through the switch –

Some drivers changing from a diesel or petrol vehicle to Electric Vehicles can be frustrating… The thought of did I charge my vehicle last night? Will I need to charge again in the day? Have I got enough miles to get to this meeting? It is the anxiousness of knowing you do not have a lot of miles per charge but 100 miles is enough. You would quickly adapt to how many miles you vehicle would do. This is what we call “range anxiety” it occurs as drivers get quite anxious in case they run out of battery. Would you let your vehicle run out of fuel?  No, so why would you let your vehicle run out of battery.

The electric car technology is changing. It is changing for the better to improve the range on vehicles. However, charging points are appearing everywhere now so all drivers that feel panicky need to just plan their journey ahead of time. All drivers at first will take it as a shock to charge instead of fill up, but the more they drive the vehicle the more they will become confident in doing longer journeys. All you will need to do is have a few stops along the way.  These stops could be used to the drivers advantage, maybe to make a call, stop for a drink or just a rest on a long motorway journey.

Changing your business to electric and ECO friendly –

It is positive to know that the business you work or manage has made massive changes. The massive changes to help get on to the EV roads. Helping the environment and keeping our air cleaner for the future. The more diesel/petrol vehicles you switch to Electric in your fleet the more the business is becoming ECO friendly. Ready for the future? A lot of businesses are adapting to making future changes for the EV roads ahead. You just need to know which benefits of Electric cars would be good to you and your fleet.

CleanCar is here to help you decide if switching to an electric fleet will be a beneficial decision or not. We have the facts and we also have the statistics, it shows you the information that will encourage you to make the electric vehicle switch. Only if it is beneficial for you or fleet to do so. If we don’t think the Electric Vehicle switch will be good for the business or beneficial we will be able to explain why.
